November Events 2025

In November, 2025 I had the honor of being asked to speak at, and be interviewed by, Quinnipiac University's Storytelling class as part of their Strategic Communication/Public Relations module.
The students were engaged and asked poignant questions about my story, my writing and publishing journey, and my purpose in making my story known.
It was a humbling experience and I very much enjoyed the meaningful conversation we shared.
Thank you Bobcats!
Here are a few brief excerpts from the media release assignment, with regard to my book.
- Everyone should read A Legacy of Strength - My Story on Paper to have a new perspective on life and gain a better understanding of grief. Whether the reader is looking to escape an unhealthy relationship, cope with childhood trauma, or overcome grief, Young's words provide encouraging advice. This never heard before story has the ability to change readers' lives by transforming their own grief journey, while also giving people the tools to support others around them who may be struggling.
- Encouraging more people to use their voices and ensuring people are not alone, Young's book is one of the most emotionally compelling and powerful memoirs. It is not only words written on a page, but a voice given to silence and hurt. Her book serves as a powerful guide and inspiration to many people. For women to feel heard and seen in their tough times. For men, to realize the way people should be respected and treated. For all, addressing the silence that keeps our pain locked away in a dark place. Silence will no longer hide grief and trauma, at least not in Young's story.
- Her memoir gives people space to connect to her experiences and also find out how to relate their own similar experiences to hers; as if she wishes to be used as a stepping stone to help people begin their healing journey.

Upward Spiral Summer Series 2025

Yale Program for Recovery and Community Health (PRCH)

Honored to have been selected as one of the presenting authors at this year's Summer Series.
Taking part in such an event and sharing in conversation with so many people who are brave and courageous, who are warriors and healers - first with/for themselves, continued by writing their story and then sharing it in the name of not only helping themselves, but also with the mission of helping guide others to heal too, was truly humbling and an honor.
