Pam ~ Hi Sandi! Mark and I met you 'officially' at your book signing. I finished reading your book and wanted to report that I found it to be heartfelt, brave and full of your innate strength and perseverance. Your mother sounds like she was an amazing woman and I'm so sorry you lost her beautiful presence in your life. There are no words to adequately convey the impact of that. You are right in that we all carry our secrets and those are often hard to acknowledge ourselves, much less to share. Additionally, I would not be following my heart if I didn't tell you that in addition to your story, you have a gift of speech and movement that is powerful. You are just getting started. I feel that 'your story' is just the beginning. You would be a great motivational speaker for all women and of all ages. Your speech is coherent, smooth and full of the empath that you are. I found the way that you use your hands and whole body to tell your story is very soothing, poetic and endearing. It reminded of the passage in your book about teaching your daughter sign language. I think that some of us that didn't receive what we needed to be nurtured after loss and just unconditionally loved, will give to the world what we needed ourselves. It's an amazing thing that we do to correct for our own loss but incredible that we somehow know how to support and love others and even virtual strangers. Several things you mentioned recalled to me some of the wonderful books I have read. Likely, you have read them as I noted similar dialogues in your discussion but I will list them anyway in case they are of use to you. The Body Remembers-Rothschild; The Body Keeps the Score-Bessel; Worthy- Jamie Kern Lima ( she also has a great podcast) and Narrative Healing- Lisa Weinart. I will end by telling you something that I believe to the bottom of my soul. I believe that your 1st born daughter is deeply attached to you. You share the same DNA and cells and they communicate on a visceral level. I believe that every time you think of her she feels it. She may not intrinsically understand what she feels but it is a real connection so keep sending her your energy and love and KNOW that it is received. The pathway is there! I apologize for the length of this but simply felt compelled to share with you my thoughts and how your book impacted me. Hugs!
